Spirograph
February 2, 2010After bringing my camera up to uni for the first time, (after really missing having it the first semester back), I’ve finally got round to having some fun with it. I’ve been meaning to give porabolas a go for quite some time now, so here’s the results of my first attempt at them. I’m pretty pleased at how they came out, and they were a lot of fun to take.
Certainly worth having a go if you’ve never done it.
For me, it’s something new, and certainly less furry than my usual subjects.
My handwriting is still awful no matter what kind of pen I use.

Nice mate. How do you do this and get even patterns?
they came out really good much better than what I was expecting.
@Tom – Nothing special. It’s just a £1.50 keyring torch from Maplin, tied to my light fitting with a bit of our old washing line.
I think the key for getting it even for me was to to throw the torch and wait for it to settle into a parabola before opening the shutter, then closing the shutter before it went wobbly again.
@Avenyet – Cheers.
Very nice.
