AVS
December 6, 2007A few shots of the AVS models I’ve managed to produce for my uni work.
The first one’s a hexagonal shaped bottle with a sealed top and bottom, and the second two are the same bottle dimensions, but smoothed out (It’s a 50 sided shape instead of 6).
They’re generated with AVS using a Java application I’ve written to produce the data sets for them. The program takes a profile of a part of the shape you want to make, and rotates it around a central axis to produce the final shape.
I’m glad I’ve got most of this program finished. I’ll most likely add a load of validation to make sure you can’t enter odd coordinates for the profile, and maybe a couple of sample pieces. I thought this one would take me a long time, so I’m glad I’ve just got to polish it a bit and document it.
Oh yeah, I just remembered how amazingly awesome Grim Fandango is as well.
